Being around long enough means that what people now call “retro” was just everyday tech for me. I started programming in the 1970s and moved on to the Commodore 64 in the 1980s. What seemed like just yesterday is now considered vintage.

After the pandemic, interest in retro computing surged, and suddenly, my decades of experience had new value. Turns out, the skills I honed back then never really went out of style—people just needed a reason to appreciate them again.
